Achieve Fitness Model Abs With Workout Muse!

TylerEnglishPro

By Tyler English of Farmington Valley Fitness Boot Camp

Abs and Cardio!

If you visit your local big box gym these two words go together like peanut butter and jelly.

I mean think about it for a second.  From the time a misinformed gym member walks in to perform their daily workout the odds are more likely that they will at some point do each of these two movements:

  1. They will perform way TOO much cardio! This is usually the person who spends 80% of the lifetime of their gym membership on the treadmill or elliptical!
  2. They will work their abdominals so much with infinite amounts of crunches etc.  They leave the gym looking more like the Hunchback of Notre Dame rather than a fitness model with razor sharp abs!

I won’t even touch upon the horrible workout music these types of gyms and health clubs play on a daily basis!

Being a New Age Natural Bodybuilder, abdominals and cardio (interval training) are two components to my training program that I constantly am tweaking.  I am always researching and experimenting for new ways to increase my productivity, increase my intensity and deliver the faster results for burning body fat, building lean rock hard muscle and giving me a razor sharp six-pack all year round!

Before implementing Workout Muse Interval Training Music into my conditioning program I constantly found it difficult to take my interval training workouts to the next level. I would implement Tabata Interval Workouts into my conditioning program all the time; but it wasn’t the same! (more…)

Reggaeton Interval Workout Music

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

In our boot camps and my own personal workouts, we typically alternate between the following interval workout music templates:

1.) 50-10 Five Exercise Circuit from Bootcamp Dynamite powered by Workout Muse (for more more info please visit Best Bootcamp Workout Music)

2.) 20-10 Ultimate Tabatas powered by Workout Muse (for more more info please visit Tabata Interval Training Workout Music)

3.) 30-30 Five Exercise Circuit from 30-30 Mayhem powered by Workout Muse (coming soon in September 2009!!!)

However, it’s great to change it up on occasion and one of my favorite change-up templates is the continuous 30’s circuit featuring reggaeton interval workout music.

Reggaeton is the perfect workout music for high-intensity interval training due to its fast-paced tempo and movement-inspiring rhythmic audio arrangements!

Crank it in the Ring of Fire

By Dave Schmitz of Resistance Band Training

There is absolutely no better way to train a group of highly motivated fitness enthusiasts with resistance bands than by putting them in The Ring.  Yes I said The Ring.

Training in the Ring using resistance bands is the ultimate in partner band training.  Not only does it provide an opportunity for 6 to12 people to push each other, it also allows trainers to create tremendous group chemistry and community. And as always when it comes to band training… You know you can train anywhere, anytime at any intensity.

However there are a few recommendations “the band man” needs to share with you before you crank it in the ring:

1.  Make sure your group has mastered the movement you want to do in the ring.  The ring is an advance training approach and can be intimidating to some, so make sure everyone is ready.

2.  As a trainer you must train in the ring and have become proficient with teaching  partner based training before you bring on the ring.  It’s like going from 1 on 1 to bootcamp training.  It takes some practice and progression

3.  Map out your workout.   Here is a challenging 20 minute workout in the ring (more…)

Resistance Band Interval Training Music Workout

main

You know one of the easiest ways to set up a boot camp interval workout to music is by using Alternate Resistance Band Partner training in conjunction with interval training music.  The set up takes seconds and the interval workout music literally takes the campers through the workout while creating incredible workout energy.

Here is how you do it:

Choose 2 exercises that work opposite movements (Vertical push and Vertical pull or alternating sides using a unilateral exercise like lunges) and  than put your camp into teams of 2 or 4 people.

Split the group in half and instruct half the group to do one exercise while the other half does the other exercise.  The interval workout music will tell them when to switch.  Literally I instruct my campers on what they need in resistance bands, demo the exercise and click on the Workout Muse workout music.

Examples of some great resistance band alternate partner workouts.

1.    High Pull – Front Squat
2.    Push Press – Hammer Curl
3.    Split squat right – Split squat left

All of these workouts use attachment free resistance band set ups so all you need is space, a single resistance band per person, and some motivated campers to get after it.

Take a look at a recent camp I did using alternate partner training in conjunction with workout muse 20-10 Tabatas.

Michael Jackson and Workout Music

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Like many of you, I am in a state of shock and confusion about the tragic passing of the legendary Michael Jackson.

At the end of the day, no matter what anybody says about MJ- NOBODY put on a better performance than him… NOBODY!

And nobody had more hits… he was truly the greatest entertainer of all time.

I have lots of favorite Michael Jackson songs, but my personal favorite was “Man in the Mirror”

I used to listen to this song before every football game.

It was actually the theme song of my senior season for our team… a daily personal confrontation to push yourself to get better for yourself and for those around you- that’s what it’s all about baby!

Still to this day, I play it before a big event or as motivation before a workout if I am being lazy, dragging ass, or feeling sorry for myself.

Boot Camp Dynamite at Fast Track to Fitness Millions in New Jersey

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

This past weekend I had the honor of presenting at the Fast Track to Fitness Millions event in New Jersey regarding my boot camp expertise.

One of the highlights of my presenation in front of 200 of the top fitness trainers and entrepreneurs in the world was our unique approach to public speaking in the form of active fitness presentations to promote our boot camps.

3 of my buddies and fellow Workout Muse customers and Boot Camp Blueprint members Doug, Curtis, and Max, were good sports and came on stage to demo for me… and boy did they regret it!

Check out the video below for the 5-minute crunchless abs workout that almost broke these super fit boot camp trainers:

The audio quality of the hotel conference room sound system wasn’t too great, but you can get a pretty good listen to the blazing new rock/hip-hop fusion track from our latest brainchild BOOT CAMP DYNAMITE, one of the 12 new smoking hot 50-10 five exercise circuit soundtracks set to take the world by storm.

We officially launched it this past weekend in New Jersey… and we sold out FAST!!!
