Crank it with BJ: Kettlebell Kaos Continuous 20 Minutes Workout

This week’s “Crank it with BJ!” featured a smoking Kettlebell Kaos Continuous 20-Minutes Workout powered by Workout Muse interval training workout music.

This workout template is great for density training- the goal being to get more work accomplished in the same amount of time or less to stimulate monster fat loss, conditioning, and lean muscle gain.

Below is both a replay of the LIVE follow-along workout with yours truly, plus a script of the workout for you to use for your fitness bootcamps or your own personal workouts ;)

Bodyweight Circuit

1- Spiderman Push-ups Variation- 10 reps

2- Split Squats Variation (L)- 10 reps

3- Split Squats Variation (R)- 10 reps

4- 1-Leg SLDL Variation (L)- 10 reps

5- 1-Leg SLDL Variation (R)- 10 reps

Kettlebell Circuit

1- Spiderman Push-ups Variation- 10 reps

2- KB Threaded Lunges Variation- 10 total reps(5/side)

3- KB 1-Arm Clean and Press Variation- 10 total reps (5/side)

4- KB 2-Arm Swings Variation- 10 reps*

*Optional- Adding the 4th exercise as outlined above circuit is extremely challenging, do so at your own risk ;)

Fusion Circuit- TRX Suspension Trainer, Resistance Band, Kettlebell, and Bodyweight

1- Spiderman Push-ups Variation- 10 reps

2- Band Squat to Press Variation- 10 reps

3- TRX Suspended Rows Variation- 10 reps

4- KB Swings Variation- 10 reps

1.) Fitness Bands

Fitness bands are simply one of the most portable and versatile training tools on the market today. Not only do they provide a full spectrum of pulling exercises like band rows to complete your balanced today body workout template, but they can me be used for presses, squats, locomotion drills, and a lots of great rotary core movements. Plus, bands provide for a host of partner training exercises that help your campers build relationships and have more fun at each workout.

20-10 Total Body Blast

Here’s a great 20-10 Total Body Blast using Ultimate Tabatas interval workout music Powered by Workout Muse. Perform 20-10 for each station for 8 total rounds followed by a 1-minute rest and transition between stations:

1- Squat Superset- Band Front Squats/Bodyweight Squats

2- Push/Pull Superset- TRX Suspended Bicep Curls/Triceps Extensions

3- Single-Leg Superset- Single-Leg Deadlift L/R

4- Ropes- Squat Waves

The great thing about the TRX suspension trainer is that it takes ordinary isolation exercises like curls and triceps extensions and makes them more total body with lots of great core stabilization benefits!

TRX Suspension Trainer Core Workout Powered by 30-30 Mayhem

Here’s a great core training workout we did with TRX at BOOTCAMP BOOTCAMP in Louisville.

What I love about the TRX is that it takes any bodyweight exercises and instantly makes it more challenging.

Suspension training forces you to recruit more muscles during every exercise, particularly for your pillar stabilizers: shoulders, hips, and core. This results in:

1.) A greater calorie burn during your workout and for up to 24-48 hours after your workout to accelerate fat loss. (more…)
