4-Minute Shoulder Workout

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

The other day I received a great 4-minute shoulder workout video from the one and only Jason C. Brown.

jason

He’s P-Mac’s partner in crime over at KettlebellAthletics.com in Philly.

They are 2 of the world’s leading experts in Kettlebell Training.

The workout video Jason sent me is below:

It features a Kettlebell 1-Arm Push Press for 20 seconds followed by 10 seconds of active recovery with full arm extension overhead. This 30-second sequence is repeated 8 times for a 4-minute shoulder blaster using Ultimate Tabatas Interval Workout Music powered by Workout Muse.

For beginners, you can either employ full rest for 10 seconds or simply switch arms from set to set.

Try this bad boy out- I know I will… it will smoke those shoulders baby!

30-30 Interval Kettlebell Metabolic Conditioning Circuit

By Pamela MacElree

I travel a good amount for our Kettlebell Athletics Kettlebell Certifications.  It’s tough to always travel with equipment, so I’m typically left to do bodyweight workouts in my hotel room, but I always have access to Workout Muse and variety of interval training music tracks.  This week I’m away for a week so there’s no skipping workouts on this trip, fortunately I drove, so I was actually able to bring some kettlebells with me (craziness I know!)

Typically I use the 30-30 Mayhem tracks (COMING SOON LATE SEPTEMBER!) as my Kettlebell interval workout music for strength training circuits, however this time I switched it up and made the rest period an active rest period using Kettlebell sling shots.

It’s a 4-5 round metabolic Kettlebell training circuit consisting of

  • Kettlebell Deadlifts
  • Kettlebell High Pulls
  • Kettlebell Romanian Deadlifts
  • Kettlebell Swings

Every time the interval changes to a rest period I’ve subbed in Kettlebell sling shots for active rest.  Use a moderate weight for this one since you have to hold on to the Kettlebell for a full 16-20 minutes.  Holly Rigsby, the Fit Yummy Mummy, thought it was a good workout, I’m sure you will too.

Strength Endurance with Double Kettlebell Interval Workout Music

By Pamela MacElree of Kettlebell Athletics

The very first time I heard a Workout Muse track, BJ was visiting Philadelphia for a mastermind meeting, and a group of us had invaded one of our early morning bootcamp workouts.  At the end of an already tough Urban Athlete Kettlebell workout, BJ decides we need to do a Tabata finisher, and out comes a Workout Muse track.  BJ was right, there was no distraction of looking at the clock, no need to worry if you’ve missed counting a round.  Workout Muse kept even the leading Bootcamp owners in line for their workout! (Plus we all got to experience the energy that BJ carries with him to every workout.)

When Workout Muse started releasing different tracks and different intervals, I was very excited to start using them on a regular basis not only for our client’s workouts but also for my own workouts.  The 30/30 Mayhem track is an awesome rock track that fits perfectly into our Kettlebell workouts.

Workout Muse Featured at The Perform Better Summit in Chicago

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

This past weekend in Chicago I was at The Perform Better Training Summit in Chicago.

Perform Better is without a doubt the fitness industry’s best platform for continuing education and each event truly has that family feel to it that makes you want to keep coming back.

It was really awesome to learn from all of the industry’s best minds… but it was even more awesome to see how much Workout Muse was on display!

Check out the video below of Coach Robert dos Remedios, 2006 NSCA Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year and Author of Men’s Health Power Training, doing a killer 4-minute 15-15 tabata finisher to end his hands-on presentation:

Hear what Coach Dos has to say about Workout Muse and the exciting projects we have coming up for his new book Men’s Health Metabolic Training:

My buddy Jason C. Brown, the world’s leading kettlebell expert and owner of Kettlebell Athletics, cranked out a 40-20 metabolic finisher during his hands-on presentation using the Workout Muse 40-20 MMA soundtrack:

Plus, I was honored to run a surprise lunch workout featuring BOOT CAMP DYNAMITE!

Here’s a video of the 50-10 five-exercise circuit workout:

And here’s a video of the 4-minute 20-10 tabatas finisher using body weight exercises only:

Lastly, I was honored to have 2 of the world’s leading fitness experts rave about Workout Muse!

Mike Boyle, the world’s most respected strength and conditioning coach, has been using various Workout Muse tracks with his elite athletes, including Boot Camp Dynamite. Hear what he has to say about it:

My good friend Brian Grasso, the world’s leading youth fitness expert and CEO of the IYCA, also had some very kind works about our company:

All in all, it was an amazing weekend and I can’t wait for the next event!
