Ok, so call me a MEAT HEAD! I dare you!

I don’t like traditional boring cardio! Never have and never will!

In fact I HATE cardio! But what Bodybuilder do you know actually enjoys cardio?

Whether it’s low intensity or high intensity there aren’t many that enjoy it.  In fact many are just like me; they just can’t stand the thought of it.

First, let’s get something straight, I am definitely not your prototypical Bodybuilder!

I don’t train like one- but what I do works!

In September of 2008 after only three years of Amateur competition I won my World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF) Professional Card at the age young age of 26.

So how did I do it?

Well, first I train very different and the high-intensity interval training methods I incorporate into my off-season and contest preparation are a major reason for my success.

Like many of us so-called “Meatheads” I love hearing weights clanking and animal sounds coming from my gym.

But I need to hear the right type of workout music during my interval training.

Cardio is simply boring to me! What I do love is heart pounding, muscle pumping, animalistic high-intensity interval training.

That doesn’t mean I don’t incorporate high intensity cardio movements into my workouts.

When dieting down for a competition I am one of those few “blessed” competitors that can get away with doing less cardio.

Sometimes my interval training sessions last as little as 10 minutes. But every last second of it is heart pounding!

Black and White Torso Side

Thanks to use of Ultimate Tabatas interval workout music powered by Workout Muse I now have a killer library of interval training music I have been able to incorporate for more consistent Interval Training sessions into my weekly workouts with this kicka$$ workout music.

Check out the video below to see me finish off this killer Ultimate Tabata 20 minute Rope and Kettlebell Swing interval combo that had my entire body screaming at the end! Gotta love that Techno music!

  6. Kevin,

I got some of my ropes from Perform Better. The others I made from Rope and electric tape. It is attached to my Squat Rack at the other end, but you can use a heavy dumbbell, kettlebell, etc.

  7. Mary,

The Ropes and KB work your entire body. I use both in this video more for my interval conditioning workout then to target specific muscles. Ropes and KB are great for low impact cardio that still allows you to increase your intensity. At the end of that workout I was feeling it everywhere! haha

    Thanks for the ?’s!

    TE
