Like many of you, I am in a state of shock and confusion about the tragic passing of the legendary Michael Jackson.
At the end of the day, no matter what anybody says about MJ- NOBODY put on a better performance than him… NOBODY!

And nobody had more hits… he was truly the greatest entertainer of all time.
I have lots of favorite Michael Jackson songs, but my personal favorite was “Man in the Mirror”
I used to listen to this song before every football game.
It was actually the theme song of my senior season for our team… a daily personal confrontation to push yourself to get better for yourself and for those around you- that’s what it’s all about baby!
Still to this day, I play it before a big event or as motivation before a workout if I am being lazy, dragging ass, or feeling sorry for myself.
Please take a second out of your busy day to:
a.) watch MJ perform this song with every ounce of energy and emotion in his body… for nearly 3 minutes after the song was supposed to end…
and
b.) read the words of this unbelievable song that changed my life and the lives of many others:
I’m Gonna Make A Change
For Once In My Life
It’s Gonna Feel Real Good
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right…
As I, Turn Up The Collar On
My Favorite Winter Coat
This Wind Is Blowin’ My Mind
I See The Kids In The Street
With Not Enough To Eat
Who Am I, To Be Blind?
Pretending Not To See Their Needs
A Summer’s Disregard
A Broken Bottle Top
And A One Man’s Soul
They Follow Each Other On
The Wind Ya’ Know
‘Cause They Got Nowhere To Go
That’s Why I Want You To Know
I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change)
(Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na, Na Nah)
I’ve Been A Victim Of
A Selfish Kind Of Love
It’s Time That I Realize
That There Are Some With No Home
Not A Nickel To Loan
Could It Be Really Me
Pretending That They’re Not Alone?
A Willow Deeply Scarred
Somebody’s Broken Heart
And A Washed-Out Dream
(Washed-Out Dream)
They Follow The Pattern Of
The Wind, Ya’ See
Cause They Got No Place To Be
That’s Why I’m Starting With Me
(Starting With Me!)
I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
(Ooh!)
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
(Ooh!)
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make A Change)
I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
(Ooh!)v I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
(Change His Ways-Ooh!)
And No Message Could’ve Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make That…
(Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make That…)
Change!
I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
(Man In The Mirror-Oh Yeah!)
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
(Better Change!)
No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
(If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place)
(Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make The Change)
(You Gotta Get It Right, While You Got The Time)
(’Cause When You Close Your Heart)
You Can’t Close Your…Your Mind!
(Then You Close Your…Mind!)
That Man, That Man, That Man, That Man
With That Man In The Mirror
(Man In The Mirror, Oh Yeah!)
That Man, That Man, That Man
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
(Better Change!)
You Know…That Man
No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make A Change)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na, Na Nah
(Oh Yeah!)
Gonna Feel Real Good Now!
Yeah Yeah! Yeah Yeah! Yeah Yeah!
Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na, Na Nah
(Ooooh…)
Oh No, No No….
I’m Gonna Make A Change
It’s Gonna Feel Real Good!
Come On!
(Change …)
Just Lift Yourself
You Know
You’ve Got To Stop It.
Yourself!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!)
I’ve Got To Make That Change, Today!
Hoo!
(Man In The Mirror)
You Got To
You Got To Not Let Yourself…Brother…
Hoo!
(Yeah!-Make That Change!)
You Know-I’ve Got To Get That Man, That Man…
(Man In The Mirror)
You’ve Got To
You’ve Got To Move! Come On! Come On!
You Got To…
Stand Up! Stand Up! Stand Up!
(Yeah-Make That Change)
Stand Up And Lift Yourself, Now!
(Man In The Mirror)
Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!
Aaow!
(Yeah-Make That Change)
Gonna Make That Change…
Come On! (Man In The Mirror)
You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know It!
You Know…
(Change…)
Make That Change
Thanks for the memories Michael and rest in peace…
Crank it!

He had so many great songs, but my favorite one was his very first solo perfromance…Ben. Yes, I know it was a song about a rat, but it’s a great song anyways.
Very sad day. The music industry and the world lost an amazing artist. He will be missed but his songs will live on forever.
So many: Human Nature and I just Can’t Stop Loving You. I love his upbeat songs too, but nobody could sing love song like he did.
That was Naomi in the previous post, not BJ : )
Michael was an amazing performer, and my all time favorite song ha sang was “I’ll Be There” I know this was a jackson 5 song…There’s no way I’d be able to pick a favorite off his solo albums.
I’m with you BJ and Naomi. MJ’s music was something. I’d have to go with Smooth Criminal as my favorite song. It had a killer video as well.
Because I love to watch great dancing, I’d have to vote for “Thriller” and “Bad”. The lyrics don’t have the same wonderful message as “Man in the Mirror”, but I loved watching the great dancing. What a talented guy. Weird, but talented.
I have to agree with you – Man In The Mirror is an awesome song and my favorite. Michael was an easy target, especially for Baby Boomers like me, but there isn’t a guy alive who wouldn’t want to be able to dance like him. His impact on music (and dancing/videos) was of a similar magnitude as that of The Beatles and Elvis before him. May he rest in peace.
Yes man, you got that right. Too many hits to name my favorite. And a man impacted the lives of many and made a difference in the world. But I remember being only 3-4yrs old and performing breakdancing in front of crowds of like 2-400 people. No training, just studying the one Ambassador who invented pop locking. Yes I am celebrating the life as well as praying for his family and kids during their moment of grievement.
It is hard to pick just one, but I would choose The Way You Make Me Feel.
We had a MJ day in my boot camps yesterday mixed with the great tracks from Workout Muse and the boot campers loved it. This tribute will continue tomorrow.
Wow I’m very devastated by this news. The first concert I went to my grandmother took me and it was to see the Jackson 5 white-tailed bell bottom tuxes liked with silver and sequins . . .wow. My favorite song would have to be “Off the Wall”. But Michael was beast hands down he will surely be missed!!
Kim
so much talent! So many song that we rock out to today that were influenced by his gift. But by far, my favorite has to be Rock with You!
A very sad day indeed for all of us. Man In the Mirror and Don’t Stop til You Get Enough was two of my favorites. Growing up to his music, trying to dance like him, and as a kid showing off the best jacket of all time…the Thriller Jacket!
There will never be another Michael and he will be deeply missed.
Thank you Michael for your leadership and inspiration. May you continue to sing in the heavens and rest in peace.
Bj, I feel bad that MJ Died he did contibute alot to pop music. It is more unfortunate that his passing over shadowed the passing of
Farah Fawset who was loved. by many and was a great contibutor in her later years . She will be sorely missed
When I heard yesterday, I was shocked! I am now to this moment I’m in shock!! He was a great entertainer and had many, many beautiful songs.. and I too love “Ben”.
My favorite is probably working day and night which has an awesome tempo for working out.
we did a finisher on Friday using “man in the mirror”
basically, campers would alternate between 3 push-ups (regular or plyo) and 5 squats (regular or plyo) and do as many rounds of this as possible until the end of the song… it was KILLER!
great way to incorporate MJ into the workouts
crank it!

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us ‘0 which is not a hashcash value.
Could you guys make a couple soundtracks using some of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits like Thriller, Beat It, etc. just a thought to capitalize on the fact that the industry is mourning his loss, but everyone loves his music and passion. It would be awesome to crank it to some of his hits!!!
Thanks!
there is no doubt that Michael Jackson is the best ever pop music artist of the Centruy:`:
