Fitness Band Bootcamp Cardio Interval Workout

Partner Interval Cardio Training with Resistance Bands

Fitness Band BootcampBy Dave Schmitz of ResistanceBandTraining.com

Looking for an easy and exciting way to crank up your interval cardio training for your bootcamps??  I have just the solution and it doesn’t matter what type of clients or space you host your camps in.

Partner Interval running in bands is one of the safest, easiest, low space, and cheapest ways to get a great running cardio workout.

Let me address the issues.

Band running is unsafe

That is totally not the case.  As a matter of fact, partner band running is all acceleration with essentially no deceleration impact.  Since deceleration is what causes injuries, you will immediately find out that your clients will do better with band running than if they just tried to run on their own.

Not everyone can run

I have yet to find someone in my adult bootcamps who cannot do some form of band running or power walking.  The band actually unloads the body which makes ground contact forces much lighter and softer.  As a result, joints love it and so will your clients.

You need a lot of space to run

I have done Partner band running in cafeterias, hallways, small weight rooms and in the basement of my home.  The work is all in the start and by emphasizing high knee with fast arms, you increase work load even more without having to have the person run more than 10-15 feet.  Because of the band tension they are not going to cover a lot of distance and stopping at the end of the run is done by the band.

You need a lot of bands to run with

You need 1 band per 2 people, assuming you have the right size of band.  That is a $20 investment divided by 2…$10 per person and done over 40 camps means you spend about it runs you about 10 per camp. Granted body weight running is free but boring as heck and you need space unless you do shuttle runs which is a lot of deceleration.

I recently ran about 20 fitness professionals through a little partner band interval cardio work using 50-10 Workout muse interval training music which you will find in bootcamp dynamite.  Take a look and please let me know what you think.

Could your clients do that??

Is your space bigger than the little 15 foot by 15 foot area I had??

Can you afford a $20 or $25 dollar band to get a great cardio workout for your clients??

I want to know what you think.  Make sure you comment below and tell me about your experiences with partner band running.  Shoot me your questions on how you can set it up for your bootcamp.

Or …… If you want to start doing this along with over 80 more partner based band workouts, take look at picking up your own copy of the Fitness Band Bootcamp.

This was an awesome workout Dave! It was the one that made me the most tired out of all of them, and I’m used to moving like that on the court!

  2. That was great to see. Tons of fitness pro’s really out there getting after it (some need to watch your vids though and correct that form hahahaha). That Bose ipod dock is all you need to make it happen! Job well done Dave and I can’t wait to be out there too.
