Killer Tabata Workouts

By Ben Warstler of Vermont Fitness Boot Camps

Our bootcampers love tabatas…well I love it at least.  When our clients walk into the door and see the word Tabata on the board, they know they are in for a doozy of a workout.

Personally I think Tabatas are one of my favorite workouts because it blends the intensity of an effective fat loss workout with the the abbreviated time it takes to perform without compromising results.

In our camps we often do Tabata workouts within the camp as well as at the beginning and end of each session.  We will use it as a right of passage for new campers and a method of evaluating performance (endurance) progress over the course of a camp.  This workout below we did as a finisher to a session and we checked progress from the first day of camp.

Here is the Ultimate Tabatas workout we did using Ultimate Tabatas Interval Training Music powered by Workout Muse:

Our Greatest Training Tool For Boot Camp Results

By Ryan Ketchum of Bloomington Fitness Boot Camp

There are a lot of tools in our training systems at Force Fitness.  We use about everything that is effective to get the best possible results for our clients.   We try very hard to not pin ourselves down as being one type of training “guys”.  We are the guys that just want to get your results.  Everyone is just a little bit different and needs a little different tool to give them the most effective workout.

I can however say without a doubt that when under time constraints or running a boot camp that Workout Muse is our greatest training tool!   Workout Muse and the awesome interval workout music that allows us to use our imagination and creativity with all of our other tools.   It would be very difficult to coach a kettlebell swing, drop squat, medicine ball push up and other movements if I constantly had to watch a clock or count reps.

Not only do we use tracks from the awesome Boot Camp Dynamite Interval Training Training Music program but also the Ultimate Tabatas Interval Workout Music system and many other tracks like the Continuous 30’s Reggaeton soundtrack.   I am not sure what it is that makes working at max capacity so much easier when using Workout Muse, but I can honestly say that our boot campers’ results increased dramatically when we fully incorporated the system into our training. The Benefits of Workout Muse Interval Training Music for Corporate Fitness Boot Camps

We have a wide variety of corporate fitness bootcamp locations.  Some locations we train twice a week, some once a week, others only see us twice a month.

It’s really important for us to make sure that these folks get the most out of their workout, but even more importantly we want to ensure that they are performing the movements properly.  This is where Workout Muse is the ideal interval workout music for corporate fitness bootcamps.

With Workout Muse we’re focusing on watching form, correcting form, and more importantly not staring at a clock waiting to say the words start, stop, rest, halfway, etc.  We have constant interaction with our clients during their bootcamp session.

This video is one of more frequently visited corporate fitness bootcamps.  They completed 5 rounds of a 50 on / 10 off work to rest ratio from Boot Camp Dynamite Powered by Workout Muse.

Rounds 1 & 3 were lower body based: squats, jump squats, alternating reverse lunges, jumping lunges, and in & outs.

Rounds 2 & 4 were upper body based: presses, push presses, and push ups.

The last round was a mixture of burpees, flutter kicks, sit ups, mountain climbers, and they got to end with burpees again.

Such a simple workout for corporate fitness bootcamps, mostly body weight movements, one dumbbell, and the Best Bootcamp Workout Music powered by Workout Muse.

Top 5 Tips to Tighten Your Waist at Your Favorite Restaurant!

By BJ Gaddour, CSCS, YFS

It’s critical to know that with a few small changes, almost anything on the menu can be transformed into a tasty, yet health meal at your favorite restaurant. Here are a few nutrition tips for a leaner, sexier you:

1)    Hold the Bun to Look Better Naked: When ordering any sandwich on the menu, ask your server to “hold the bun”. Eliminating excess starches in your diet forces your body to burn more unwanted body fat for fuel 24-7. The result- leaner legs, a tighter butt, and a flatter tummy!

2)    Upgrade Your Salad to Burn More Calories: Anytime you eat, your metabolism increases as you burn calories from the digestion, absorption, and storing of nutrients from food. This is called the thermic effect of feeding. Furthermore, research shows that the thermic effect of protein is roughly double that of fat or carbohydrates. So, boost your metabolism by adding lean proteins sources such as chicken, steak, salmon, or shrimp to any of your favorite salads.

Resistance Band Circuit Training Workout

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

As a resistance band expert, I pride myself on thinking outside the box and constantly bringing in new ways to use resistance bands to challenge your body.

It’s a weekly email question.  Dave, Can you simultaneously train with bands and dead weight??

The answer is a “No Brainer”…  Absolutely.  I call it resistance band combo workouts.

When you train with bands and dead weight it causes the body to deal with both types of resistances- isotonic and elastic (or reactive).  With a traditional isotonic resistance the body has to generate enough force to get the weight moving.  Once moving a majority of work is done, especially when using total body movements.

With elastic resistance, the work comes more towards the end of the movement versus the beginning.  As a result you train the body to get strong and stable at both ends of the range as well as in the middle.

Bottom line, you will gas your body through the entire exercise which absolutely cranks up the metabolism and fat burning response.

Now… Add interval training music and you have yourself a fat burning workout unmatched by any other training tool.

I recently headed out to my local high school football field to go through a 50-10 Boot Camp Dynamite workout using a pair of Green bands that can generate over 150lbs of  resistance per band and one of my favorite 80 pound steel belted friends.

The result…  A resistance band old school workout with the new revolution of boot camp interval workout music powered by Workout Muse.

Enjoy and make sure you shoot me more question on resistance band training combo workouts.

You and your clients will not believe the feeling simple total body dead weight exercises like dead lifts, farmer walks or tire flips transform into when you combine resistance bands and Boot Camp Dynamite Powered by Workout Muse.

Keep Training Beyond the Contraction!!
