Strength Endurance with Double Kettlebell Interval Workout Music

_DSC0267 Web Ready

By Pamela MacElree of Kettlebell Athletics

The very first time I heard a Workout Muse track, BJ was visiting Philadelphia for a mastermind meeting, and a group of us had invaded one of our early morning bootcamp workouts.  At the end of an already tough Urban Athlete Kettlebell workout, BJ decides we need to do a Tabata finisher, and out comes a Workout Muse track.  BJ was right, there was no distraction of looking at the clock, no need to worry if you’ve missed counting a round.  Workout Muse kept even the leading Bootcamp owners in line for their workout! (Plus we all got to experience the energy that BJ carries with him to every workout.)

When Workout Muse started releasing different tracks and different intervals, I was very excited to start using them on a regular basis not only for our client’s workouts but also for my own workouts.  The 30/30 Mayhem track is an awesome rock track that fits perfectly into our Kettlebell workouts.

Bootcamp Yoga Workouts

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Lately I’ve been playing around with some yoga routines within my own personal workouts and for my fitness boot camps in Milwaukee, WI.

Now, I am not claiming to be a yoga expert. However, I am very flexible and have studies and applied lots of yoga movements into my training systems.

Yoga typically consists of lower to moderate intensity isometric holds using a host of body weight based exercises that help build strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility- with a particular emphasis on core stability.

Getting Strong with Workout Muse Interval Training Music

FORCE_FITNESS

By Ryan Ketchum of Bloomington Fitness Boot Camp

I developed my passion for strength and conditioning in an atmosphere where we lifted heavy and we lifted heavy often.   During my time as a young athlete and then collegiate track and field athlete my time in the gym was spent getting as big and strong as possible.

Although my goals have changed and I am much more intelligent about my training now, I still have the urge to push some weight around, but I don’t have the time to spend hours in the gym lifting heavy.  Workout Muse allows me to mix my fast paced training style with the “heavy” lifting of my past with the new 30-30 Mayhem interval workout music.

We use the 30-30 tracks to incorporate more strength based moves that need adequate rest time to be performed optimally.  It is tough to jump squat at max intensity for 50 seconds or do 20 seconds of pull ups with 10 seconds of rest and repeat it all over again.   I can however incorporate about any strength or power based movement into a workout using the 30-30 Mayhem tracks.   It gives me just enough time to get in a quality number of reps with the necessary intensity and also rest long enough to recover for the next movement. The Plyometric Revolution with the World’s Greatest Interval Workout Music

FORCE_FITNESSA True Fitness Heartthrob ;)

By Wil Fleming of Bloomington Fitness Bootcamp

Plyometrics are an important and essential part to any effective athletic development program.  This fact is hard to argue, but the way plyometrics are effectively integrated into an athlete’s program often time leads to confusion and misuse.

Quite simply there are so many factors that go into determining what is the most effective and safe way to use plyo’s that it can be overwhelming.  Ground Contacts, Impact Forces, etc, all must go into the correct utilization of plyometrics.

But I have found a tremendously effective solution to this: Workout Muse!  Fitness music from the guys at Workout Muse takes plyometric training to the next level by incorporating timed rest periods in between intense bouts of work.

By using interval workout music from Workout Muse I am able to limit the number of ground contacts that an athlete has in a given session, while also gaining the extra advantage of defined rest periods that mimic the settings of athletic contests- in other words, sport-specific energy system development.  Training with interval workout music at a high intensity makes the athletic contests a breeze.

It is essential that the athlete be prepared for this intense interval workout by learning the proper technique for absorbing and creating ground force. Once the athlete is prepared, try this workout in the video:

1)    Lateral bounds
2)    Plyometric pushups
3)    Box Jumps
4)    Standing MB Slams

Once again I turn to my favorite interval training music, Workout Muse’s Ultimate Tabatas.  I recommend this shorter duration of 20 seconds work followed by 10 seconds rest, so that the technique and safety of the exercises remain intact.  Additionally in this workout I alternate upper body plyometrics with lower body plyos so that the rest periods are greater, and allow the quality of the work is then better in the work sets.

My athletes are using interval workout music from Workout Muse to improve their games, are yours?

Father & Son Workout (Part II)

The Corporate Fitness Master

By Greg Justice, MA of Corporate Boot Camp System

Last month I did a blog post for WorkoutMuse.com about working out with interval training music with my son, David.  From that blog post, I got many comments from friends and family around the country.  Since the summer is winding down and David has gone back to start his junior year at the University of Kansas, I thought I’d do a follow up to the previous workout we did, at the high school across the street from my office.

In this Ultimate Tabatas workout, we left out the push sled and 300 lb. tire flip, but we incorporated a nice Burpee – Pull Up combination and some medicine ball work.

This workout was performed on the first day of summer (June 21, 2009) on the artificial turf of our local high school’s football field.  Of course we enjoy being outside but, we also benefit from being able to workout on a joint protecting cushioned surface.  As always, I crank tabata interval training music!

The Resistance Band Running Matrix Mayhem

bandman

By Dave Schmitz of Resistance Band Training

Cardio is one of the most difficult aspects of fitness to create variety within a bootcamp training environment.  I know that interval strength training is the key and yes you can do high volume sets to crank up the heart rate but sometimes it’s just fun to do some sprint work.

Unfortunately, not everyone can safely do sprint work and aggressive shuttle training due to degenerative joint issues, lack of hip stabilization strength, coordination concerns or just because the risk of injury is too great.

No question these were concerns of mine before I started seeing the impact of resistance band running and how everyone in my camp could do it without issues as long as we trained them in a progressive manner with the correct size of band.

No I do not have any research on what I am about to tell but I have tons of “Real world” results which is all I need to sell my campers on it.

30-30 Mayhem Interval Training Workout Music

By Ben Warstler of Vermont Fitness Boot Camp

DSC00132

Let’s just cut to the chase, shall we?

Take four exercises and perform them in a circuit format using 30-30 Mayhem interval workout music powered by Workout Muse.  My workout consisted of:

1- Rows
2- Spiderman Push ups
3- Double Kettlebell Swings
4- Kettlebell Squat Press

Perform the 30-30 format for 20 straight minutes, and you’ve got yourself one heck of a calorie burn all while listening to some killer rock workout music from 30-30 Mayhem powered by Workout Muse.

Our bootcampers performed this same workout the same day I did, and one class had the best effort I had seen in 3 years of my business.  Perhaps the best part was the fact that it had little to do with me motivating them.  It had everything to do with their mindset and the music pushing them harder than they ever had before.

A few people started and the intensity spread like wild fire throughout the class.  By the end of class everyone was at a level they never thought they could reach.  Just by pressing play my clients and myself have been able to reach new levels in our fitness and fat loss goals.  If you aren’t using these interval training music soundtracks, I suggest getting your head checked because the bottom line is they work and they work very well.

PS- We’ve been getting hammered with questions about where you can find 30-30 Mayhem. It’s currently being finalized for production, and will be ready in September, so stay tuned ;)

Reggaeton Interval Workout Music

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

In our boot camps and my own personal workouts, we typically alternate between the following interval workout music templates:

1.) 50-10 Five Exercise Circuit from Bootcamp Dynamite powered by Workout Muse (for more more info please visit Best Bootcamp Workout Music)

2.) 20-10 Ultimate Tabatas powered by Workout Muse (for more more info please visit Tabata Interval Training Workout Music)

3.) 30-30 Five Exercise Circuit from 30-30 Mayhem powered by Workout Muse (coming soon in September 2009!!!)

However, it’s great to change it up on occasion and one of my favorite change-up templates is the continuous 30’s circuit featuring reggaeton interval workout music.

Reggaeton is the perfect workout music for high-intensity interval training due to its fast-paced tempo and movement-inspiring rhythmic audio arrangements!
